Hey there, folks! Itโs time for some casino news, and you wonโt believe what happened with Top Sport in Lithuania!
They got a whopping โฌ25,000 fine for a self-exclusion breach! Oopsie!
So, hereโs the scoop, friends! Back in March this year, something hilarious (or not so much) went down.
An individual, who had previously self-excluded from gambling, somehow managed to sneak into Top Sportโs igaming services!
Can you believe it?
This cheeky person signed up for the countryโs self-exclusion scheme in October 2022, but then, guess what? They decided to give gambling another shot just a few days later in November!
Not once, but twice!
They couldnโt resist the allure of Top Sport, it seems!
But wait, thereโs more! After all this, they were still allowed to stay logged in to their Top Sport account even after self-excluding!
Seriously, Top Sport, what were you thinking?
Now, letโs get legal for a second. Paragraph 21 of Article 10 of Lithuaniaโs Law on Gambling clearly states that licensees must block access to anyone on the countryโs self-exclusion scheme. Logging in shouldโve been a no-no!
So, the regulator didnโt take this lightly, and they slapped Top Sport with a fine. But hey, in Lithuania, thereโs always room for an appeal, right?
Oh, and thereโs more tea to spill! This isnโt the first time Top Sport has been in hot water. Earlier this year, they got hit with not one, not two, but three separate fines!
First, they let some underage folks into their slot salons! For that, they had to cough up a โฌ25,000 fine!
The next day, they messed up with mobile betting and got another โฌ15,000 fine!
And just when you thought theyโd learned their lesson, they got fined another โฌ15,000 for some payment and deposit mishaps!
Oh, Top Sport, you sure know how to keep things interesting!
