Whoa, Loto-Québec’s got some digits to spill! 📉 They’ve had a 4.5% dip in their cash flow, landing at a cool CAD$711.2 million for their first fiscal quarter wrapping up on June 26.
Blaming it on the ‘big numbers’ from last year and a bit of a slow jam in Lotto Max sales this time around. But hey, they’ve got an 8.4% uptick compared to their pre-pandemic Q1 in 2019. 💸
Net income? That’s where it took a slight hit, down 14.7% from last year, but it’s still a +12.9% vibe compared to the chill days of 2019 Q1. More expenses this time, blame it on life after pandemic chill. 💸
Now, let’s hear it from Jean-François Bergeron, the head honcho at Loto-Québec: “Our squad’s been putting in the hard yards, and we’ve got the numbers to show for it. Last year was like hitting the jackpot, so this year’s just us riding the wave. Huge shoutout to our team for riding this rollercoaster and acing it through thick and thin.”
Their casino and gaming halls? They’re serving up some cash, a sweet $274.6 million to be exact (+4.2%). The online casino, in particular, is spitting out $68.14 million (+6.4%). Not too shabby!
But oh, the lottery game, she’s a bit shy this year with $224.7 million (-12.4%). Online’s in the game though with $28.70 million (-11%). Draw games are dipping at $152.67 million (-19%), but the instant games? Up and about at $72.02 million (+5.9%).
And let’s not forget the gaming joints with VLTs. They’re not partying as hard, down by 5.1%. 🎮
Shoutout to their ‘So that a game remains a game’ campaign, keepin’ it real. 🙌 Jean-François Bergeron added, “This quarter, we spiced it up with a game-lovin’ ad campaign. Also, festival season’s kickin’ in, and we’re backing it up with Les rendez-vous Loto-Québec. Culture, vibes, and big wins – that’s how we roll, Quebecers!”
